Challenge #3 at CKC and Case this sketch.

I was inspired by Case this sketch to create a card and use the oldest thing in this month's Counterfeit Kit.
There is a band of crinkly cream paper across this card which I bought at a craft fair around 15 years ago.
I popped it in my kit with some other neutrals for layering on layouts. It matched the music paper so well that I'm using it here. The enamel dots are the same shade of pink as the sentiment.

Music at Gardz4guyz & Allsorts challenge blog

Gold from Spandau Ballet is one of my favourite songs.
I've made a male card for a musical friend with the sentiment "You're gold"

I'm entering this at Cardz4guyz
Next ,we have Allsorts challenge blog where the theme is flowers, "How does your garden grow?"
I've used a tan/beige background with a rust/maroon flower then 2 co-ordinating tags and a heart on top. A very sophisticated colour palette.

Freshly made sketches

Freshly made sketches has this sketch

I've made a birthday card using pinks mainly, for a little girl.

Shopping our stash

Also in my June Counterfeit kit are some dressmaking themed items from October Afternoon.
I saw a challenge on Shopping our stash to make a selfie themed card or item.

In between everything ,else I'm trying to compile a Travel Journal.
Using the button card I made a " Selfie",by cutting out the centre and placing one of my spare passport photos inside the frame.
The whole thing was then added to a tag.
I will add ribbon to the top once I work out what the background will be.

Li'l Red Wagon

Li'l red wagon has an "off we go" challenge this week.

Here's my card...
I've used items from my June Counterfeit Kit.

I should be making a card for myself as I'm going to Europe on Wednesday.
I will be travelling for a month.
The countries I'm visiting are Holland, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Greece and Singapore on the way there and back. Think of me cruising down the Rhine :)

It should renew my scrapbooking mojo on my return.

Samba layout just for fun.

I found this dramatic black and white photo of a samba dancer and it was calling out for a layout.
I started by stitching a frame all the way around the paper.
Next I smeared some pink paint across the centre.
The paper itself suggests movement so suited this.
I've used a quote I found on Pinterest plus some washi tape and 3 buttons.
My title is purposely up and down just like samba steps.
No challenge entry for this one.

CKC Challenge #2 Humorous title

If you want to read more about this photo follow this link

Saint Denis was beheaded then walked 6 miles before dying...so the story goes.
This earned him a spot on Paris's famous Notre Dame Cathedral.

I find statues are often funny if you imagine what they are thinking or saying.
This concept has been used in TV commercials etc.

In my case I imagined one of the other statues talking to St Denis, probably the one on the right.
I kept my layout reasonably simple. The backing mat is a paper bag which I've punched 2 holes in then attached twine.
Buttons form my main embellishments, but if you have a keen eye you will notice the "admit one" ticket referring to the fact that there is one in every crowd and my washi tape features punctuation marks.
You will never look at statues the same way again.

I'm entering this on Come and Get it Challenges where the criteria is weird and whimsical.

Counterfeit Kit challenge #1.

I've chosen to be inspired by Abbey ever after from Burnett's Boards.
The B side of one of my papers was lilac in colour.
My photo mat is torn brown paper.
I had scraps of pink from another sheet.
I made flowers out of these similar to those in the picture.
I've also used pink antique lace to soften the flowers.
I've used white gauze  to match the lady on the catwalk and the big bow.
My photo is not Downton Abbey but Buckingham Palace. That's aristocratic!
My silhouette lady looks just right on here and the word stickers match the theme.
Finally,lots of bling.
My title is "All together" because it is all together stylish to live there.

Mojo Monday #451

Mojo Monday has a card sketch that inspired me.
I made a bon voyage card using the sketch.

and here's the sketch

One of my favourite sites for cards is Cardz4guyz.
The challenge last week was something with Z.
I searched high and low but alas had nothing Z,not even zigzags!
This week it is Fathers Day.
My card is for a grandfather, I find these sell really well.

Inspiration destination challenge

At this site it is anything goes.

I've made 2 cards for friends.
You can't see it clearly, but there is a strip of washi tape in neon pink across the middle.
In real life it matches the alphas.

My second card used a ruler from my October Afternoon 5 and dime stickers.

Imagine that! & Unstampabelles.

At Imagine that !Creative playground I found another tic tac toe challenge.

I haven't used Digi pictures because I don't like them but have made a card anyway.
I went across the bottom row.
My orange paisley diecuts were given to me in a prize pack.
There are yellow brads and black & white twine. Almost a Halloween card.
It is however, a birthday card.

At Unstampabelles we are asked to make something with a pocket.
The twist is to use a crown.
I have had some dressmaking done for my trip and need to pay my friend or maybe give her a gift voucher.
So, I made a library pocket from "dressmaking" themed paper.
I added it to the front of a card and adorned it with October Afternoon 5 and Dime vintage stickers.
They are sewing themed as well.
Centre bottom is the crown.
I intend to write inside something like she is the queen of dressmakers.

The Studio Challenges

I followed Susanne from Snaps and Snippets over to the studio challenges for this sketch

I loved the idea of all that layering and typical me, despite those flowers,I did a boy page.
Most of the papers as well as those retro stickers are from October Afternoon, Five and Dime.

The old postcard is from a distant cousin sent to my grandma many years ago. The only thing we know is that the photo was taken in Manly, a beach suburb of Sydney.
The "My inspiration" alphas look good on this layout.

In the pink card challenge.

In the pink has a 1 2 3 challenge.
They want one of something,2 of something else and 3 of something else.
There is one background paper, two tags and 3 enamel dots.(They are the same pink as the bow but the scanner doesn't like them!!)
and speaking of 1 2 3 challenge ,
I'm on their design team so here is this month's challenge and my layout.
We hope you will join in. Just follow the link.

Scrapping clearly Challenge

How lucky is it that my Counterfeit Kit is pink?
This is the colour palette for Scrapping clearly this month.

I've started by using the B side of My Mind's Eye Kaleidoscope paper and misting it with yellow    and a gold mist.(Both came from SC retreat last November.)

The tag was made using 2 different gesso's and I've added a gold Heidi Swapp arrow, plus a tab.

There is music paper (alluding to the vibe),plus washi tape, enamel dots and 2 stickers from October Afternoon's 5 and Dime range.
The enamel dots are a slightly brighter pink than they scanned.
My thickers are a slightly brighter pink, but they are the closest I have.
I know Lisa Oxley won't mind the brightness.

There is another challenge:
"I am giving away a small RAK from my stash at the end of June for the first 3 people who enter this moodboard challenge this month and who can tell me how many colours ScrappingClearly shop has in stock of the amazing Liquidtex paints!!!!!!!!!!"
from Marelle

Altogether there are 202 products, however some are not paints, so I counted Paint only

44 on the first page (acrylics) plus
5 on the second page plus
44 on the 3rd (paint markers) plus
48 on the 4th (Professional paint) plus
6 on page 5
147 paints.

Sketch 'n'scrap

And also used another scrap of lace.

2 more layouts.Exploring styles

I'm pushing myself out of my comfort zone this month and exploring different styles of scrapping.
This first layout is using a row of journaling cards.
Everything is from my Counterfeit Kit.
Both photos of use were in Vanuatu
This next one is working with light and darks.
The chalkboard paper was hard to use so I played with a dark photo(black &white) plus a black flower to counterbalance.
The flower was made from black laces I had in my stash.
There are other lace scraps on there to soften it.
The photo is of my daughter going to a priest and prostitutes night.
She drew a tattoo on her boob.(I had to look twice!!!)
She has then doodled around the edge of the photo.
This complimented the bottom paper successfully I think.
Celtic Knotted is her name on a site called "Deviant Art" or as I call it Deviant Tart.LOL

Scrapping Outback

At Scrapping Outback we are asked to use the colours in this drink on a layout.
It is all my favourites so no shortage of inspiration there.

We also must include chipboard.
I've used the word "adventure" on my layout which I left raw (grey).

The 2 lots of washi ,painted doiley, journaling cards ,plus enamel dots are from my Counterfeit Kit.
I'm on a new mission to use laces up as I have quite a stash so here's some under the photo.

June Counterfeit Kit

I'm going away to Europe on 22nd June, so this kit will be used this month and for the few days at the end of July after I return.

The kit we are counterfeiting is Hip Kit Club’s May kit

and the embellishment kit

Here's my kit with a big emphasis on pinks.
The papers I matched as best I could, by design.
My greens/jades are plain as I felt I needed some less busy patterns.

Supplementary papers.
There are 2 papers from Fancy Pants "Dancing girl" collection in the papers above ,so I included the 3rd one in these below.
I'm including cardstock this month
My alphas 2x pinks plus a smaller set of rub on alphas and a set of pastel patterned letters.
My embellishments

and a last minute addition to my embellishments(There's always one, isn't there?)
Wood Veneer birds and tiny bits & bobs.

I've also added my jar of pink buttons.

Here's the order of the blog hop.
